"So what do we have?"
"It is a very long download, to say the least. Only, it's not like those ghost hunting shows where they let a camera record for hours; then some kid spends an equal amount of hours sitting, staring at a monitor watching
the playback. With my program. we can fast forward to all of the scenes where there is some kind of movemnt."
The scientist looks at the monitor, then back at the technician. He says, " So we are going to see some dust storms? Maybe a meteorite burn
up in the atmosphere? Something as equally exciting?"
"Sir, yes there are some dust storms and the like. If you want to watch YEARS of that stuff, go ahead; but I have edited the material down to some VERY interesting pieces." the young technician
paused.
"First off, young man, you are like an understudy around here. Do not take any such tone with me or anyone else. Second, this material is classified. You had best keep that in mind. Now, you seem anxious to get to something."
The technician
pauses for a heartbeat then says, "I am sorry for my tone, I do realize I am the low stripper on the pole around here. What I have here in this file is going to blow your mind and several others as well. Nothing like this has ever been captured, at least that
we know of. I will play one of the more interesting segments," The technician glided his hand over the monitor to an icon and tapped it.
On the oversized monitor, an ultrawide image comes to life. "This would play in a three dimensional hologrphic
projection unit, I kept it here for ease of viewing. There is so much information packed into this file, it might even be a multi-dimensional recording," the technician finished by pointing at the screen. Over a desert scene, dust is thrown about; but it is
not disturbed by wind, It is more like the grains of sand are lifted slightly from the ground and hover about in bumble-bee like patterns. Each grain seems to have come to life. The disturbed sand is a localized violent storm cloud that hovers only
slightly above the ground. All at once, the churning cloud parts like an opening curtain. Coming through the dust cloud, only slightly off of the ground, is something shaped like two shields, stacked on top of each other. Grayish in color, the dust cloud
is out around the wide edges of the shields. Beneath the shields there are indistinct lines; the lines are akin to heat waves coming off of a desert highway. The shields stop and rotate from side to side. After the brief rotations, beams of light, each
in a different color, project from the shields directly at the monitor. All of the beams converge in one point, then each breaks away and scans around the point of view of the monitor.
